Christian Vietoris was appointed test pilot and reservist of Mercedes for the 2018 season DTM. The 29-year-old German, 2006 Formula BMW ADAC and 2006-2007 A1 GP champion, competed in six seasons in the German Touring Car Championship with the star manufacturer, finishing fourth in the Drivers' standings in 2013 and 2014. His only victory dates back to 2014 at Oschersleben.
