After Italy, Germany for Ollie Bearman, crowned champion again

Already crowned Italian F4 champion a few weeks ago, Ollie Bearman (Van Amersfoort Racing) also won the ADAC F4 champion title this Sunday at the Nürburgring. This is the first time in history that a driver has managed to win the title in the two most famous championships in the same year.

Arriving with a small head start on the track located in Rhineland-Palatinate, a collision with his rival for the title Tim Tramnitz (US Racing) in Race 1 cost him a front wing, a trip to the pits and some cold sweats, but he was brought back into contact with his pursuers following the intervention of a Safety Car, and enjoyed an impressive climb back to 5th position (!).

En F3 from next year?

His victory on Sunday morning in Race 2 after starting from pole and his 4th place in Race 3 at the start of the afternoon, allowed him to officially win the race, and thus succeed Jonny Edgar, who was also riding for Van Amersfoort Racing. On the French side, Victor Bernier (R-ace GP) finished fourth in the championship, as in 2020, thanks to a good second place in C3. His two teammates and compatriots Sami Meguetounif and Marcus Amand finished 11th and 12th respectively in the championship.

As a reminder, Ollie Bearman was tested by Prema Racing during official end-of-season testing in Valencia at the start of last week (November 1st to 3rd). The Englishman, who concludes his second year there in car after his 7th place in the championship last year, passed good tests for a driver of his experience. He is one of four drivers on the Italian structure's shortlist to complete the 2022 season in F3, with Arthur Leclerc, Jak Crawford and Paul Aron.
