Engaged in FIA Formula 3 this year, the Briton Enaam Ahmed decided, in consultation with his sponsors, to separate from the Carlin Racing team. The team led by Trevor Carlin has been struggling to gain the lead for several seasons in F3 and Ahmed has never done better than 14th place (achieved in Hungary) since the start of the current year. He leaves the championship without having scored a single point. He will be replaced at the Silverstone round (July 31 to August 2) by Ben Barnicoat (23 years old), 2nd in Asian Le Mans Series last year and 9th in FIA European Formula 3 in 2016.
