Robert Wickens (Carlin) set the best time of the Formula free practice day Renault 3.5 Series at the Nürburgring with a time of 1'45"433. The Canadian is ahead of Alexander Red of the Fortec Motorsport team (+0 »021) and relegated Daniel Ricciardo (ISR) at +0 »507. “I have been working for a long time to get to Formula 1. I want to win this championship and show the people who support me that I deserve their trust. There is still work to be done, but from my first laps I felt very good in the car prepared by Carlin,” commented the fastest of the two free practice sessions.
Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne ranks 4th at +0 from his teammate.
