While Isack Hadjar took his first pole position in Formula 3 ahead of his compatriot Victor Martins at Spielberg, two other Frenchmen shone a few hundred kilometers away, near Budapest, where FRECA is hosting its sixth meeting of the season. The two rookies Esteban Masson (FA Racing) and Sami Meguetounif (MP Motorsport) actually set the two best times in the second practice session, just ahead of Gabriele Mini (ART Grand Prix).
The other French finish mainly in the top 15, with Macéo Capietto (Monolite/12th), Victor Bernier (FA Racing/13th) and Hadrien David (R-ace GP/15th). Owen Tangavelou (RPM) set the 21st time. Championship leader Dino Beganovic finished 17th, while his teammate Paul Aron took 10th time.
