Gabriele Mini regains pole for Race 2 at Paul Ricard

Like this Saturday, it was the group of big names made up of Dino Beganovic, Paul Aron and Gabriele Mini who was the fastest in qualifying. This will allow all of these drivers to start from the odd – best – position on the line on which they qualified. The fastest of the day? Gabriele Mini. The Italian had missed pole the day before by 51 thousandths, beaten by the two Prema drivers and therefore only 5th on the grid. 

This time he put a tenth behind his old rival for the Italian F1 title two years ago, championship leader Dino Beganovic, to secure his third pole of the year after those obtained at Imola. The Swede, beaten in the race on Saturday by his teammate Paul Aron, qualified in 4rd position, while Aron will start from 3th place. Like Saturday afternoon, it is the Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto (R-ace GP) who will start in second position.

The French R-ace GP team had a nice group shot by finishing 1st (Bortoleto), 3rd (Lorenzo Fluxa) and 4th (Hadrien David) in its qualifying group. Small disappointment for the native of Royan and reigning vice-champion, who will only start 8th. His compatriots Owen Tangavelou, Esteban Masson, Victor Bernier and Macéo Capietto will start 15th, 17th, 18th and 19th respectively, while Sami Meguetounif will start from 29th place. Race 1 in any case showed thanks to push-to-pass that overtaking was possible on this route. What to bring back for our French?
