Hungary – Haverkort wins his first pole in FRECA

In the image of Frederik Vesti in F2 et Isack Hadjar in F3, Kas Haverkort (VAR) also obtained the first pole position of his young career. Positioned in Group A of the qualifications, the Dutchman should logically be at a disadvantage given the running order. Ultimately, this did not influence the results of the session.

Although placed in the first group to take to the track, Kas Haverkort delivered a very solid performance which allowed him to hang on to 1e place. With a time of 1'38"655, the Batavian dominated his group since Gabriele Mini (ART Grand Prix), his closest pursuer, finished more than a tenth and a half while Joshua Dufek (VAR) almost accused 4 tenths behind.

Despite this, Kas Haverkort still had to wait until Group B progressed to find out if he was going to be pole sitter for the first time. While some came close, no one was able to beat the VAR driver's mark, not even Paul Aron (Prema) who was in contention for a 3e row pole. Winner of his group, the Estonian finally finished 0 behind his counterpart, thus losing all hope of obtaining the best position on the grid for Race 250.

On the French side, Hadrien David (R-ace GP) achieved the best performance with 4e time of the session. Esteban Masson (FA Racing) finished 10e. The four other Tricolores entered, Owen Tangavelou (RPM), Victor Bernier (FA Racing), Maceo Capietto (Monolite) and Sami Meguetounif (MP Motorsport) respectively ranked 17e, 20e, 26e and 34e.
