Novalak dominates free practice at Spa

Frenchman Clément Novalak (Trident) set the best time in free practice at the Spa-Francorchamps meeting this Friday. The Habs achieved their time (2'05"330) on the gong, in their last fast lap despite a lot of single-seaters on the track. He is ahead of Oliver Rasmussen (HWA Racelab), author of the second time by less than half a second, even though he has not scored a single point since the start of the season. The excellent Lorenzo Colombo (Campos), 18th in the championship, confirms his good abilities shown in Hungary when he won Race 1 before being dispossessed.

Note that championship leader Dennis Hauger (Prema), although ultra-dominant this season, is only 13th a second and a half, just ahead of his teammate Arthur Leclerc (Prema). Victor Martins (MP Motorsport) immediately follows his Monegasque friend with the 15th fastest time, but the best of the MP Motorsport contingent. On the ART Grand Prix side, Frederik Vesti takes 6th time. For his big return to Spa-Francorchamps after his serious accident in 2019, Juan Manuel Correa set the 18th fastest time.
