Very promising in his karting years, Tuukka Taponen already has a nice track record. After winning the Finnish championship multiple times, he achieved many successes at the international level. In 2020, he finished 3rd in the final of the European Championship of karting and 2nd in the world championship in Portimão. In 2021, he confirmed his status by winning the OK category world champion title and also won the WSK Open Cup.
“I am very happy to join Prema and start the first single-seater season of my career, rejoiced Tuukka Taponen. I had only heard positive things about the team. They have achieved so many good results in the past. I felt very comfortable from my first try, and although it wasn't easy to transition from karting, the team was very professional in helping me adapt to Formula 4. I can’t wait for 2023.”
