It's a mistake that could be very, very expensive on the evening of the last Grand Prix of the season, in Valencia. Francesco Bagnaia crashed on the final lap of the Japanese Grand Prix and crashed. The Italian, then 9th, was in the hunt just behind his main rival, the championship leader fabio quartararo. In an attempt to overtake at turn 3, the Ducati rider attempted a slightly too optimistic maneuver on the Frenchman, losing control of his bike when braking. Thanks to the fall of Bagnaia, Fabio Quartararo leaves Motegi by increasing his lead in the championship at the end of this Japanese Grand Prix. The reigning world champion now has an 18-point lead over the Ducati rider, heading into the final 4 rounds of the season.
