Robert Kubica (Fiesta RRC) signs a new scratch by completing the 8,76km of Pregarten in 4'27"1, one second ahead of Jännerrallye leader Vaclav Pech (Mini JCW S2000). The Czech now only has a two-second lead over the Pole before competing in the last leg of the first stage. Raimund Baumschlager (Fabia S2000) follows just six seconds behind. Robert Consani (207 S2000) continues to stay in the top ten.
