IRC: Mikkelsen looks back on his exit

Andreas Mikkelsen got a big scare when he went off the road and thinks he can be happy to have reached the finish of the special. “It was a hard left in my notes,” admits the Skoda UK driver. However, the rating was a little optimistic especially since we were at the start of the special and my tires were not at maximum temperature. So I was a little too fast and the car started to understeer towards a ditch. We hit a wooden post and bounced back onto the road. We were really lucky on that one. The car had very little visible damage, but we still had a puncture. Then, the jack proved recalcitrant, hence almost three minutes wasted. »
