Following an exit from the road in SS 5 leading to the death of a spectator and serious injuries to another, the organizers of the rally Terre de Langres made the decision to stop their event on Saturday evening. The Sunday stage is therefore canceled, and the classification of the first day will therefore become the final classification. Remember that Jean-Marie Cuoq was in the lead at that time, with 1'34" ahead of Bernard Munster (Skoda Octavia WRC) and 1'42"5 over Thomas Privé, leader of Group N with his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9. Jérôme Jacquot, in his 207 Super 2000, occupied fourth place, ahead of the Ford Focus WRC of Laurent Carbonaro. In two-wheel drive and in group R, it is the young hopeful Germain Bonnefis (Peugeot 207 Rc) who won, with around twenty seconds ahead of Marc Amourette (Citroën C2 R2 Max). Bonnefis also won in the Volant Peugeot 207, ahead of Pierre Marché and Denis Millet.
