On aurait pu croire Elfyn Evans (Toyota) sonné après le coup asséné par Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) in the opening special of the Rally of Monza 2021. The Welshman recovered perfectly and managed to make up a gap of 2″ over 5 km at the end of the course. A real performance because the special took place on a pass at an altitude of 1 meters and included two sections with fog.

The Frenchman only concedes a tenth and remains in the lead of the Rally. Behind, the gaps are already widening. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) est rejeté à 16″8 et roule de concert avec Dani Sordo son équipier. La sixième place est occupée par Adrien fourmaux (Ford), despite a choice of soft tires that was not very inspired by the Northerner's own admission.
