Philippe Gache will compete in the 2009 French gravel rally championship at the wheel of a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 group N from the Var team REC. The boss of the SMG structure nevertheless remains connected to the next Dakar:
« I have always been a fan of rally. This championship will allow me to get back into the rhythm of competition while waiting for the next Dakar where I will enter my brand new buggy."
Apart from a single experience at the 2003 Terre de Vaucluse rally, the former track rider will have everything to discover about this new discipline:
« I raced historically recently but the dirt championship is different with only one reconnaissance pass. I expect to suffer at first! »
First round this weekend at Terre de Provence.
