Giandomenico Basso (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) set the best time on the 7th special stage of the Rally di Roma Capitale, first round of the European Rally Championship ERC.
The Italian was the earliest at the start of the second stage, completing the 7,25 km of Rocca di Cave in 5'05″3, to beat Andrea Crugnola (Citroën C3 R5), forced to abandon yesterday but back this Sunday, by 2″, and the leader of the event Alexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 R5) by 2″6.
Lukyanuk remains solid leader of the event with 31″5 ahead of Basso and 49″2 over Oliver Solberg (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5). The main victim of this SS7 is Fabian Kreim (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5), 5th this morning before the start, and who broke a wheel.
