Cedric Robert (Peugeot 307 WRC), at the end of the Canadel special (SS1), took control of the Rally of the Var. In the fight for the title of French Rally Champion, the driver of the GPC Motorsport Motul team is 2??5 ahead of Dany Snobeck, 7??5 over Jean-Sébastien Vigion (Peugeot 207 S2000) and 8??4 on Bryan Bouffier (Peugeot 207 S2000). If this result was identical on Sunday noon, Robert would be champion.

« There are no questions to ask, confided Cédric Robert before departure. We will have to attack! How long have we been aiming for the title? We will face great competition with Brice (Tirabassi), Dany (Snobeck) and Bryan (Bouffier). It is a magnificent rally with an often particular scenario. »

Note that Robert Kubica (Renault Clio S1600) started very well with fifth place overall, 9” behind Cédric Robert and six tenths ahead of Brice Tirabassi (Subaru Impreza S5 WRC), sixth.
