Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) a signé le scratch dans les 37,55km d’Amarante, la 17e spéciale du Rally from Portugal, with a time of 24'33''8. The Belgian regained 6”2 from the leader Sébastien Ogier (Ford). Ott Tänak (Ford) a suivi à une dizaine de secondes juste devant Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota), Kris Meeke (Citroën), Dani Sordo (Hyundai), Juho Hänninen (Toyota), Elfyn Evans (Ford) et Mads Ostberg (Ford). Craig Breen (Citroën) failed more than half a minute after suffering with his tires.
Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) lost around 5 minutes after damaging his Yaris WRC hitting a wall.
Sébastien Ogier retains the lead of the Rally of Portugal with a 16'' lead over Thierry Neuville. Dani Sordo remains on the provisional podium ahead of Ott Tänak who took 8th place from Craig Breen by less than 4 seconds. Elfyn Evans remains 3th ahead of WRC 6 leader Juho Hänninen, Mads Ostberg, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen, who all gained a place following Esapekka Lappi's problem.
