While occupying 2nd place in the Monte-Carlo Rally, Ott Tänak (Ford) lost around ten seconds in the short Lucéram – Col st-Roch special (5,5km) by reaching the finish with an engine emitting a disturbing noise. The Estonian would have lost several cylinders.

Tänak would have lost several cylinders on his Ford, resulting in a loss of pace caused by the lack of power.
Hänninen is the slowest with 13s behind Sordo's scratch. The Toyota driver is in 15th position.
Lefebvre signs the 7th provisional time, 7s behind Sordo's scratch.
Ogier sets the 3rd provisional time, 3 tenths behind Latvala and takes 11s from Tänak. The Frenchman has a 58″5 lead over his teammate.
Tänak drops 11s in Latvala by reaching the finish with an engine making a suspicious noise. “I don’t know what’s going on, I have to go.” » The M-Sport driver could lose his 2nd place if the problem proves serious. The Estonian still has a 1'22 lead over the Finn.
Latvala is closest to Sordo with 1 second behind. The Toyota driver is still in 3rd position. “The special stage was good, but we didn't have the right tires for this course. We thought about the next ES. »

The WRCs will start with 2 minutes of intervals. The rest of the crews will leave every minute.
The Lucéram – Col St-Roch SS14 is often organized in the opposite direction, with the Lucéram descent constituting the final sprint towards the finish in the principality of Monaco. For the 85th edition, the ACM innovated with this wide and fast “hill race”, punctuated by several hairpins up to the Col de St-Roch. The roadway is generally dry.
The final stage will not feature any assistance or regrouping, but the crews only have 54km left to cover before the finish.
Here is the new order of departures. Former leader Neuville will open the road.
