The Polish Rally experiences a turning point with one stage to go. Ott Tänak (Ford) lost 35 seconds to Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) following a still unknown problem, the Estonian having refused to speak to the press.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen) signed the scratch by completing the 21,25km in 11'18''5 with a 4''8 lead over Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen). Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) finished 7''8 behind with 11''3 ahead of his teammate Hayden Paddon despite a puncture. Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroën) set the sixth provisional time after being able to repair his DS 3 WRC. Dani Sordo (Hyundai) retired after damaging his rear suspension.

Andreas Mikkelsen takes the lead of the event with a lead of 16 seconds over Ott Tänak before taking part in the Power Stage.
