Rally Mexico 2023

15h

The drivers may be competing in this special for the fourth time on this 2023 Rally of Mexico, but it can still hold (small) surprises. Pierre-Louis Loubet (Ford), Jourdan Serderidis (Ford) and Dani Sordo (Hyundai) each lost a handful of seconds by missing one of the many tight turns on the course.

Logically, Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) was conservative due to his lead at the head of the elements. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) is less cautious, because he wants to take 2nd place from Elfyn Evans (Toyota). Despite his special victory, he only took a few tenths back from the Welshman, three special stages from the finish.

SS20 ranking:

General classification of the 2023 Rally Mexico after SS20:

15h

In WRC2, Adrien Fourmaux stayed on his four wheels, but he lost 3″6 to Emil Lindholm (Skoda)! The outgoing champion of the category is getting dangerously close to the Frenchman, only 2″4 behind.

15h

Logically, Sébastien Ogier takes the easy pedal today. He sets the 6th time, more than 3″ behind Neuville.

“Let's not talk about victory yet because the following special is very long (35.39 km, the longest of the rally). »

15h

4″1 gap between Evans and Neuville to the Welshman’s advantage! This is the margin that remains between the two drivers after the passage of Evans who only loses 2 tenths in this SS on the Belgian.

15h

Thierry Neuville launches a big attack! The Belgian wants to take 2nd place from Elfyn Evans and takes the best provisional time with 6 tenths ahead of Tänak.

15h

To be completely exact, Ott Tänak (Ford) and Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) took two soft tires.

15h

All the competitors entered in Rally1 started today with hard tires.

15h

Dani Sordo (Hyundai) stalled his engine in a corner after going wide. The Spaniard drops a handful of seconds.

15h

His teammate, gentleman driver Jourdan Serderidis (Ford) hit a large rock while taking a slow turn too tight. The Greek was able to continue.

15h

Pierre-Louis Loubet (Ford), already at fault on Friday then Saturday, briefly went off the track on this short special. The Frenchman did not hit any rocks and was able to continue.

Here is the starting order for this final stage:

14h

In this super special staged for the first time on Saturday, Adrien Fourmaux almost lost everything!

12h

Hello and welcome to this page to follow the final stage of the 2023 Rally Mexico!

The World Rally Championship (WRC) competes in his first gravel event of the season at the Rally Mexico. Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) will start this final stage from the head of the race, from 15:05 p.m. this Sunday March 10.

The Frenchman, winner of the last Mexican edition in 2020, returned with his new co-driver Vincent Landais to score a seventh success, which would make him the record holder for the Rally of Mexico.

The French crew took advantage of the accident of the leaders Esapekka Lappi-Janne Ferm (Hyundai) in the first special on Saturday to take the lead.

The big question mark of this day concerns the duel for second position between Elfyn Evans (Toyota) and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai). The Belgian continued to get closer to the Welshman during Saturday's specials, and was only 4″3 behind before the final four SS.

In WRC2, we will have to monitor the evolution of the match between the new Skoda Fabia Rally2 and the aging Ford Fiesta of Frenchmen Adrien Fourmaux and Alexandre Coria. They are sailing in 2nd place, 31″ behind Gus Greensmith.
