Monte-Carlo Rally 2022

10h

Overall, Ogier remains in control of Monte-Carlo 2022 but sees Loeb return to 5″5. Evans remains 3rd in ambush at 12″4. Greensmith and Breen complete the Top 5 but remain more than 33 seconds from the lead. To find a trace of a Hyundai, you have to go down to the 6th row where Neuville is located. After 3 special stages, the Belgian is already 40″1 behind Ogier. The weekend promises to be difficult for the South Korean machines.

10h

Loeb therefore won this SS3, the first on Friday, ahead of the two Toyota drivers, Ogier and Evans. The Hyundais continue to suffer after an already complicated Thursday evening. The first i20, that of Tänak, is only 5th at 7″5 from the best brand.

09h

Loeb is back and in good shape! The nine-time world rally champion beats Ogier's mark for the last pass of SS3 with a time of 10'08″9, 1″2 faster than his compatriot

09h

Meanwhile, Solberg crosses the finish line in 10'25″1, a full 15 seconds behind Ogier

09h

Fourmals in the ravine! The Frenchman hit the rock wall on the inside of the bend and rolled over. We are waiting for news from the Habs but he seems to have gotten out of his car.

09h

A time 1″5 behind Ogier, Greensmith finally lost 12 seconds on the Habs. 10'22″1 for the Englishman provisionally 6th in the special

09h

No improvement for Breen who is positioned in 3rd provisional position in 10'16″1, 6 seconds behind the best mark established by Ogier

09h

10'33″7 for Katsuta on the line at 23″6. The Japanese notably lost time due to a spin around the 8th km of the special

09h

Tänak best Hyundai driver at the moment. The Estonian is currently 3rd, 6″3 behind Ogier with a time of 10″16″4

09h

Rovanperä finds a little rhythm after a very complicated Thursday evening. 10'23″2 for the Toyota driver who provisionally ranks 4th in SS3, 13″1 behind Ogier

09h

Neuville already far from the Toyotas. Beyond his spin, the Belgian lost time on Ogier with a time of 10'21″7 to 11″6 behind the Habs. “It’s no better than yesterday. It's a nightmare. I have never been so afraid while driving,” regrets the disappointed Hyundai driver at the stop point

09h

Meanwhile, Evans crosses the finish line 1″3 behind Ogier. 10'11″3 for the Welshman who is provisionally 2nd

09h

It's Neuville's turn to make a mistake. The Belgian lost control of his i20 in a hairpin and spun. He let a few seconds pass

09h

A little scare for Ogier who hits the safety rail at the back in a right turn a few hundred meters from the finish. The Tricolore still finished the special in 10'10″1 with some slight damage to the rear bumper.

Concerning the tire strategy, Ogier, Katsuta, Evans, Breen, Greensmith and Rovanperä relied on 4 softs and 2 super softs. Riskier bet for Fourmaux, Solberg and Loeb who leave with 5 tenders. Tänak and Neuville opted for 4 soft and 1 super soft.
