Rally Estonia 2020
Ott Tänak (Hyundai) set a second consecutive scratch time at the 2020 Rally Estonia this Saturday, September 5. The reigning world champion increases his lead to more than 10 seconds over his teammate Thierry Neuville, who leads the chasing group alongside Elfyn Evans and Sébastien Ogier (Toyota).
The nice surprise of the morning was provided by Craig Breen (Hyundai), who set the same time as Ott Tänak to within a tenth. The Irishman is currently the only driver to keep pace with the number 1.
Left behind on the previous special due to a flat right rear tire, Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) has reassured himself but remains a good distance from the leader.
In WRC 2, Mads Ostberg (Citroën) ceded the lead to Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux after suffering a puncture to his right rear tire.

Major incident in WRC 2! Mads Ostberg drives with a flat right rear tire! The Norwegian should leave the head of the category to Adrien Fourmaux.
Pierre-Louis Loubet sets the 9th time, 10″8 behind Ott Tänak. The Frenchman is 10th in the general ranking, 51″ behind the Estonian.
Gus Greensmith spends 15″ in this special. Normally, the Englishman is more than a minute behind Ott Tänak!
Craig Breen, despite a large quantity of grass obstructing the radiator, finished just 1 tenth behind Ott Tänak's time! He is still 2nd in the general classification, 4″5 behind the Estonian!
Craig Breen and Paul Nagle make a strong impression! The Irish are in the same time as Ott Tänak within tenths at the halfway mark!
Takamoto Katsuta loses a full 8″ on Ott Tänak. The Toyota is flirting with 30″ behind the leading Hyundai.
Lappi: “I am at the limit in several places. I can't go any faster than that. »
Esapekka Lappi once again proves that the Ford Fiesta is at ease when corners punctuate the course. The Finn recorded the 6th time, 7″6 behind Ott Tänak.
Slightly better for Teemu Suninen, who “only” lost 9″2 to Ott Tänak.
Tänak: “The first stage of the day was complicated but since then it has been much better. »
Ott Tänak continues to get ahead. He sets the best provisional time with a margin of 2″6 over his teammate Thierry Neuville!
Rovanperä: “I don't know how I got my puncture. This tore off aerodynamic elements, it was the first time I rode in this configuration. It was a bit difficult, I didn't know how the car was going to behave. I was more careful than I really needed to be. »
Kalle Rovanperä seems to be back to his usual pace. The Finnish beginner only loses 3″4 on Thierry Neuville.
Neuville: “This special was slower and more technical. I'm not totally happy with the car yet, although it was better suited to this terrain. »
Thierry Neuville finished with a provisional best time, 3″3 ahead of Elfyn Evans! The Belgian passes the Welshman overall by 5 tenths.
