The WRC-2 drivers are still in the special, while sector no. 7, Grafschaft 2, will begin shortly.

Ott Tänak (Ford) was the fastest on the second pass of Mittelmosel this Friday afternoon, on a very wet course, and where the competitors made different tire choices. The Estonian from M-Sport, who had partly relied on rain tires, completed the special in 13'31"5 and precedes Andreas Mikkelsen (Citroën) by 3"2 and Sébastien Ogier (Ford) by 5"1.

In the general classification, Mikkelsen maintains the advantage by nine tenths over Ott Tänak, while Sébastien Ogier is still in third position at 7″5. The gaps are widening behind as Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), now fourth, follows at 26″3 and is ahead of Elfyn Evans (Ford), classified at 29″4, Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) at 31″8 and Craig Breen (Citroën) at 49″3.

The Toyotas of Juho Hänninen and Jari-Matti Latvala follow in the standings at 52″ and 1’47″3. Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) provisionally completes the top 10 at 1'52″6.

Andreas Mikkelsen (Citroën), leader after the morning loop, finished in second position in 13'34″7, 3″2 behind Tänak.

Kris Meeke (Citroën) climbs to fourth place, 11″1 behind Tänak.

Third fastest time for Esapekka Lappi at the wheel of the Toyota Yaris. The Finn fails 5″8 behind Tänak.

“It’s difficult to know if it was the right choice,” said Paddon, who crossed wet tires and soft tires. I wasn't on pace. It's difficult to judge the tires based on the way I drove the car. »

Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) sets the seventh and final time in 14'08″7. 37″2 from Tänak. Juho Hänninen (Toyota) finishes in turn and is ahead of Paddon by 13″5. The Finn is 23″7 behind Tänak’s time.  

Craig Breen places his Citroën C3 in sixth position, 21″ behind Tänak.

13'49″3 for Elfyn Evans (Ford) who mixed the tires on her Fiesta WRC. The Briton lost 17″8 to Tänak. “In some places it worked, in others I had no grip. »

Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) concedes 13″7 on Tänak. The Finn was on soft tires. “The first part was ok. But towards the end, on the wider road, I aquaplaned, and I lost confidence. » Latvala, however, no longer seems bothered by the engine problem which affected him during SS5.

“It’s not that good,” says Tänak. There was a tight hairpin, I pulled the handbrake but couldn't see anything and went straight into the vines. I was very lucky to come back. I'm disappointed that I didn't take rain tires as the team suggested. »

13'31″5 for Ott Tänak (Ford), who beats Ogier's best time by 5″1.

Sébastien Ogier (Ford) is faster than Neuville, completing the 22 km of Mittelmosel in 13'36″6, 6″9 ahead of the Belgian. " Not so easy. I don't know. Let's see how the drivers behind behave, but it could work with the rain tires. We had some aquaplaning in places. The important thing is that Thierry and I are on the same choice. »

Neuville finished in 13’43″5. The Belgian spun not far from the finish. “I don’t know what the best option was. Several times I was in the way. I did my best, but it's not very pleasant in these conditions. »

Ott Tänak (Ford) was the fastest in the first part, 5″9 ahead of Neuville. Ogier is 0″ faster than the Hyundai driver.
