Ingram is arrested in the special. The Briton was in 6th place in WRC 2.
Breen did a little better than his teammate Ostberg by finishing less than 8s behind Tänak's scratch. The Irishman remains 5th, less than 2 seconds behind Suninen.
Ostberg finished just over 11 seconds behind Tänak. The Citroën driver remains in 8th place, 5s behind Lappi. “I'm having a little trouble having sensations. I feel like I'm steering a boat. »
Evans is 3″6 behind Tänak and limits his delay by being 9s behind Tänak in the general classification. “It’s very hard to assess the grip. »
Mikkelsen remains in difficulty. The Hyundai driver is 20s from the benchmark and finds himself 47s from the lead of the race. “I have no feeling with the car. She is very hard to control. It's very hard to attack in these conditions. I'm doing the best I can, but it's hard. »
Lappi regains rhythm by being 2″6 behind his teammate Tänak. The Finn came back to 6 tenths behind Ogier in the general classification. “'It's very slippery in places and the grip changes a lot. It's part of Wales Rally GB. Things were still better in this ES. I can't understand how Ott is so fast. I've already taken a lot of risks and I'm staying behind, it's impressive. »
Ogier loses a few more seconds by spinning.
Tänak: “There were a lot of grip changes but I can't complain. It might look fun from the outside, but it's different behind the wheel when everything isn't under control. »
Neuville sets a first time in 10'23″4. “The feeling was a little better, but the stage was complicated by being both fast and narrow. It should be better. »
Tänak now has a 4s lead over Neuville in 2nd intermediate.
The rain starts to fall in the special. Lappi activated his windshield wipers.
Neuville made a slight error in a section on asphalt by missing a 90° left turn. The Hyundai driver was able to restore his Hyundai in time without having to reverse.
The three title contenders are now in the special.
The Penmachno route offers a portion used in the 1990s. The route begins with a fast portion before offering a narrower route, notably with the passage of “Cresta Run” offering several jumps.
Neuville takes the start of the last real special of the morning.
