Jan Kopecky (Skoda) remains at the head of WRC 2, in 11th place in the general classification, ahead of Yoann Bonato by just over 20 seconds at the wheel of the new Citroën C3 R5. Ole Christian Veiby (Skoda) completes the top three in the category with a handful of seconds ahead of the French Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroën) and Pierre-Louis Loubet (Hyundai).

Pierre Budar (Citroën): “It's not as good a day as we could have hoped for at the start, but Kris is satisfied with the car and he is in a good position. We were happy to see Seb on a good pace in the first SS, even if it didn't work as well afterwards. I think he will try to take advantage of it by setting good times. Kris will have to concentrate on his race because he is the only one able to get us a lot of points in the Manufacturers' Championship. The priority will be to avoid mistakes. »

Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) signed the scratch in the second passage of Piedigriggio – Pont de Castirla by completing the 13,55km in 7'59''4. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) were the closest, 1”7 behind. Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) did not give up much ground by following at 1”8, with a tenth ahead of Ott Tänak (Toyota). Kris Meeke (Citroën) finished less than a second behind the Belgian, preceding Bryan Bouffier (M-Sport) who was ahead of Dani Sordo (Hyundai), Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) and Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai).

Sébastien Ogier returns to service with a lead of 33”6 over Thierry Neuville who maintains a 5”1 lead over Kris Meeke. Ott Tänak came back 5”5 behind the Northern Irishman. Esapekka Lappi gained two positions to move into the Top 5 ahead of Elfyn Evans and Dani Sordo. Jari-Matti Latvala took eighth place at the expense of Andreas Mikkelsen. Bryan Bouffier completes the Top 10.

Good time from Bouffier to end the day. The private driver signs the 7th time, 3 seconds behind Lappi's scratch. The Frenchman completes the Top 10. “I have difficulty positioning the front of my car. The day remains positive. »

Evans only sets the 8th time, 5″2 behind the benchmark. The M-Sport driver also lost a place against Lappi who found himself 5th with 3 tenths ahead of the Welshman.

Sordo finished 3″7 behind Lappi and gave up his 6th place to the Toyota driver by 9 tenths. “I don’t know if we can do anything. Lappi was very fast. »

The crews are preparing to resume the start of the Piedigriggio – Pont de Castirla special. Ogier has already won the scratch this morning in 7'59"9. The m-Sport driver is expected to start at 16:31 p.m.
