Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) resisted the return of Kris Meeke (Citroën) by gaining almost two seconds from the Northern Irishman in the Désert des Agates, SS6 of the Tour de Corse. Sébastien Loeb (Citroën) once again signed the scratch by completing the 15,45km in 8'32''4, one second ahead of Ott Tänak (Toyota). Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) and Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) followed at 1”4. Dani Sordo (Hyundai) beat his Belgian teammate by two tenths and took more than two seconds from Elfyn Evans (M-Sport). Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) finished more than seven seconds behind the benchmark, ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) and Bryan Bouffier (M-Sport).
Sébastien Ogier now has more than 38 seconds ahead of Thierry Neuville. Kris Meeke remains threatening behind the Belgian with only 2”3 behind. Ott Tänak came back to less than 11 seconds from the provisional podium. Esapekka Lappi still completes the Top 5 ahead of Dani Sordo who is tied with Elfyn Evans. Jari-Matti Latvala is now nine seconds behind the Spaniard and the Welshman, with less than four seconds ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen. Bryan Bouffier still completes the Top 10.
In WRC 2, Jan Kopecky (Skoda) has almost half a minute ahead of Yoann Bonato (Citroën) who has a similar lead against Ole Christian Veiby (Skoda). Pierre-Louis Loubet (Hyundai) follows in fourth place.
Bonato ranks 6″3 behind leader Kopecky and almost 7s behind Veiby. “It's better than the day before after having encountered brake problems. » The C3 R5 driver remains well established in 2nd place in WRC 2 between the Czech and the Norwegian.
Hiroki Arai went off the road on SS5. The Japanese occupied 7th place in WRC 2 in his Ford Fiesta R5.

Loeb takes his second scratch in a row, beating Tänak by 2 tenths. The Citroën driver, however, seems demotivated by his mistake the day before by indicating to his co-driver Elena that he would prefer to be instead... The nine-time WRC champion is in 38th place after starting again in Rally 2.
Ogier is closest to Tänak with 4 tenths behind. “It’s never easy to go all out here. I drove cleanly. » The Frenchman is still ahead of his closest opponent Neuville by 4s and now has a 38”4 lead overall.
Neuville sets the 4th time, 1″8 ahead of Meeke but still finishing 4″6 off the provisional scratch. The Belgian now has a 2″ lead over the Citroën driver overall. “I couldn't do much more. The car was moving in all directions. I'm surprised to see Kris slower. »
Meeke sets the 4th time, 6″4 behind the benchmark. The Citroën driver sees Tänak come back to less than 11 seconds from his 3rd place. “I thought I had a puncture at the start of the special…”
Tänak improves the mark by 4 tenths compared to his teammate Lappi. The Estonian is still ranked 4th. “It worked well. »
Lappi improves the reference by 4s. The Toyota driver is a little isolated in 5th row. “We have really evolved compared to the day before, it’s nice to see. »
Evans drops 2″1 against Sordo. The two men find themselves tied in the general classification! “I didn't do a good stage. »
Sordo takes the provisional scratch, ahead of Latvala by 2″2. The Hyundai driver is aiming for Evans' 6th place. “I tried to push hard, but the balance of the car is not good. This is not satisfactory. »
Latvala improves the benchmark by 2″3 and thus regains some breathing space against Mikkelsen who remains less than 4s behind the Toyota. “I have a problem with the rear brakes locking the wheels. »
Mikkelsen only improved Bouffier's time by 4 tenths. The Hyundai driver is still fighting with Latvala for 8th place. “This ES was the worst compared to the settings of our car. »
Bouffier sets the first benchmark in 8'42″7. The former winner of the event is ranked 10th. “It’s completely dry. The stages are very beautiful. »

Bouffier sets off in the 2nd special of the day!
The crews will now head to the SS6 of the Désert des Agriates offering a 15,45km course. Bouffier should start the special at 9:18 a.m.
