Ott Tänak (Toyota) took the scratch on SS7 of the Rally of Turkey, the last special of the first stage. The Estonian completed the 12,57km of Ciçekli in 10'22''3, 2''6 ahead of his teammate Esapekka Lappi. Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) followed at 6 seconds with 8 tenths ahead of Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), but it was Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) who lost the most ground at the front with 11 seconds behind on the benchmark by finishing behind Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota). Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) followed 14 seconds behind, preceding Craig Breen (Citroën) who was still suffering from a puncture and Teemu Suninen (M-Sport).
Thierry Neuville takes the lead in the Rally of Turkey on the evening of the first stage, 3 tenths ahead of Sébastien Ogier, while Andreas Mikkelsen slips into 3rd position, 2”3 behind the Frenchman. Jari-Matti Latvala remains in 4th place ahead of Ott Tänak who took 5th position, 3 seconds ahead of Hayden Paddon. Esapekka Lappi remains 7th, just one second behind the New Zealander. Craig Breen remains 8th ahead of Teemu Suninen.
Suninen is the slowest, failing 4s behind Breen. The M-Sport driver is almost 13s behind the Citroën overall. “We are learning things for next season. »
Latvala finished 9s behind his teammate Tänak “It wasn't an easy day, but at least we avoided any problems. »
Mikkelsen is the slowest with more than 4″5 behind his teammate Neuville. The Norwegian fell to 3rd place, 2″3 behind Ogier.
Lappi is closest to his teammate Tänak with 2″6 behind. The Finn is just over 4s behind the Estonian in the general classification.
