The GCK group (Green Corp Konnection) takes a turning point in its young life with the entry of Motul into the company's capital. GCK, known in motorsport for its commitments in Rallycross and more recently on the Dakar with Guerlain Chicherit, welcomes the French company leader in the production and distribution of high performance lubricants.

This participation will allow the two groups to amplify their collaboration with joint Research & Development and marketing operations. The first effects of this collaboration did not take long. The Foenix H2, unveiled on the sidelines of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2023 by Solution F (subsidiary of GCK), was equipped with a 8 liter V6.2 hydrogen internal combustion engine developed by GCK with the support of Motul.

Indeed, this type of engine requires a lubricant adapted to cope with the constraints induced by hydrogen combustion such as the sensitivity to abnormal combustion accentuated with hydrogen, the risk of emulsification of the lubricant due to the greater production of water and particulate emissions from the exhaust due to the lubricant.

Furthermore, the Lancia Delta Evo-e, a youngtimer “restyled” by GCK, also features a solution made in Motul. This is a highly specialized dielectric heat transfer fluid into which the entire battery designed by GCK Battery is immersed.

Motul's entry into the capital of GCK will result in January 2024 in an astonishing restomod concept, a 1974 Jeep Cherokee Chief equipped with the same hydrogen V8 engine as the Foenix H2. The 4×4 will be shown at the CES show in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12, 2024 and will serve as a demonstrator for both groups to explore the American retrofit market.

Éric Boudot, President of GCK, states: “It is a great pride and joy to welcome Motul into GCK’s capital. This strategic partnership will allow us to accelerate our development in terms of innovation and at the international level. The presentation at CES of this hydrogen-powered Jeep will be an important event for our two groups and proof of the synergies that we are able to create together. »

Olivier Montange, Chairman of the Management Board of Motul, specifies: “Motul’s DNA has always been to support technological innovations and societal transformations linked to mobility. Diversification is at the center of our “Regeneration 2030” strategic plan. It is quite natural, after several months of working hand in hand on key subjects such as the performance of batteries or hydrogen combustion, that we wanted to give even more strength to our partnership with GCK and thus accelerate the development technologies that contribute to the decarbonization of mobility.
