If the engine remains unchanged with the 300hp and 340Nm of torque already available on the A110 S, the R aims to be the worthy representative of the racing heritage ofAlpine. Weight being the enemy of good in a car, 34 kg have been dropped from the scales compared to the S to bring the weight of this edgy Berlinette to 1082 kilos.
Lightened, sharper, theAlpine A110 R has been designed to evolve on the circuit while retaining its approval for the road. The engineers did not skimp on the use of carbon fiber to lower the weight/power ratio to 3,6 kg/hp while 0 to 100 km/h is now announced at 3,9 seconds. The front hood with integrated air intakes, the roof, the rear window, the diffuser, the bucket seats and the rims use this precious fiber. A spoiler with swan-neck supports takes place at the rear of the model. Subtle originality, the front and rear carbon rims use two specific designs and alone allow the weight to be reduced by more than 10 kg. A figure that may seem trivial, but when it comes to moving mass it is a huge number for the already frail A110.
On the body side, specific skirts and a side flap diffuser join the front blade inaugurated on the S. The A110 R will only be available for sale in one color, the matte competition blue which adorns the Alpine F1 A522Esteban Ocon et Fernando Alonso.
Shod with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, it benefits from a ride height lowered by 10 cm compared to the S, specific anti-roll bars and shock absorbers adjustable to 20 notches, adjustable in pressure and rebound and allowing an additional 10 cm to be gained. of ride height.
The whole thing has been designed to reach a maximum speed of 285 km/h. Useless and of course totally banned on French roads, but a great promise of pleasure on the circuit. Its price should be around, or even exceed, 100 Euros, the price of passion and exception.
