This is what we call completing the final qualifications of the season. Tuned to perfection for this qualifying session, the DAMS cars secured the first row on the grid for the Main Race this Sunday. In the ranks of the Sarthe team, we had a raw time for Roy Nissany's pole position when he moved to the top of the timesheet with a time of 1'36"326. But that was without counting on Ayumu Iwasa's great last attempt which allowed him to pass in front of his teammate by only 36 thousandths.
With this time, the Japanese, member of the sector Red Bull, ensured a 2e pole position after the one won in Hungary just before the summer break. While he should be returned to the ranks of DAMS next season, Ayumu Iwasa has a great opportunity to finish his first campaign of F2 in beauty.

If it went to a French team, this pole position could also have gone to a French driver. Second behind Jack Doohan (Virtuosi) after the first attempts, Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix) has long been in the fight for first place in these qualifications.
Provisionally in the lead with a lap in 1'36"372, Théo Pourchaire finally had to bow to the strike force of DAMS. Thus, the Habs will start from 3e position on the grid for the Main Race this Sunday just ahead of Felipe Drugovich (MP Motorsport). Under the obligation to obtain his Super License to validate his promotion in F1 with Williams, Logan sargeant (Carlin) ranked 6e.
