Bahrain – Lindblad wins the Sprint battle against the ART Grand Prix

• Ideal start to the season for Arvid Linblad (Prema) who is taking his first steps in Formula 3. For his first start, the Englishman, covered by Red Bull, imposed his law at the end of a great battle, notably against the ART Grand Prix drivers, Nikola Tsolov and Laurens van Hoepen.
• This first race of the 2024 Formula 3 season was very lively with a fight on the track which involved no less than 5 drivers with Arvid Linblad, those of ART Grand Prix, Leonardo Fornaroli (Trident) and Max Esterson (Jenzer). For a long time the victory seemed to be between Nikola Tsolov and Laurens van Hoepen but the Briton showed patience, conserving his tires, to get back into the final third. Taking advantage of the fight between the two teammates in front of him, Linblad moved into second position and managed to get the better of Tsolov after a nice crossover which lasted a few laps.
• Taking the lead at the start of the 16th lap, the Red Bull protégé then took advantage of the battle behind him to take off and take the checkerboard with more than 5 seconds in advance 4 laps later. Behind him, Nikola Tsolov fell in the hierarchy ranking 4th just behind Leonardo Fornaroli who missed 2nd place by 7 thousandths. Tim Tramnitz (MP Motorsport) completed the Top 5.
• On the Tricolore side, Sami Meguetounif (Trident) tried to join the battle for a place in the Top 5 but he suffered from tire degradation and could not do better than 11th on the track. The 10-second penalty imposed on Luke Browning (Hitech GP) for taking an outside advantage allowed him to move up to 10th, thus securing the last point at stake.
