Macau Grand Prix – Our contenders in F3

Who will be the big winner of the 70th edition of the Macau Grand Prix? ©Macau Grand Prix

Favorites

Richard Verschoor (Trident, 22 years old, Netherlands, winner 2019)

Title holder, the Dutchman logically appears as a contender for his own succession. His on-site experience will be a major asset.

Dan Ticktum (Carlin, 24 years old, England, winner 2017 and 2018)

Already titled twice in Macau, the Englishman returns to recover his property. Now engaged in Formula E, he could rely on his maturity to triple his stake.

Marcus Armstrong (MP Motorsport, 23 years old, New Zealand, twice 8e 2018 and 2019)

The Kiwi is one of the surprises of this 70e editing. If he left the promotion formulas, the experienced New Zealander would not be against adding Macau to his list.

Isack Hadjar (Hitech GP, 19 years old, France, 1re participation)

The only French representative, he could be one of the revelations. Very comfortable on urban circuits, like his performance in FRECA in Monaco in 2021 (pole position and victory), the protégé of Red Bull comes to play to win and nothing else.

Gabriele Mini (Prema, 18 years old, Italy, 1re participation)

Back at Prema, the Transalpine is keen to finish the year well to best prepare for 2024. It's timely, his only victory in the Main Race in 2023 took place in Monaco.

Dino Beganovic (Prema, 19, Sweden, 1re participation)

The Swede has been at ease in the city this year for his first F3 campaign. Second in Monaco on Sunday, the 2022 FRECA champion is expected at the front of the peloton.

Dennis Hauger (MP Motorsport, 20 years old, Norway, 1re participation)

Called at the last minute to replace Franco Colapinto, the Norwegian can rely on his two seasons of F2 to play up front. His knowledge of the car is an asset since he was FIA F3 champion in 2021.

Zane Maloney (Carlin, 20, Barbados, 1re participation)

2022 F3 vice-champion, the compatriot of singer Rihanna wants to end the year on a good note in order to better attack his second F2 exercise.

To monitor

Josep María Martí (Campos, 18 years old, Spain, 1re participation)

To definitively close the F3 episode before his move to F2, the Catalan would like to create a surprise.

Paul Aron (Prema, 19, Estonia, 1re participation)

Often fast, but not always well rewarded, it would not be surprising to see the Estonian among the men in the leading group.

Luke Browning (Hitech GP, 21 years old, England, 1re participation)

Author of a complicated first season in F3, the Briton nevertheless obtained his best results in the streets of Monaco (8e of the Sprint and 4e of the Main Race). Perhaps those from Macau will also bring him luck.

In charge of promotion formulas (F2, F3, FRECA, F4...). Carried by the grace of Franco Colapinto.
