Daniil Kvyat will make his return in car in 2024. The Russian – who has been racing under an Italian license since this season – would be well placed to participate in the next Super Formula season, and will be present during the Rookies Tests organized by the Japanese championship from December 6 to 8, with the Nakajima Racing team.

The 29-year-old driver and 110 Grands Prix in Formula 1 has not competed in a single-seater since 2020 and his last season in the premier category, with Alpha Tauri. Since then, the man with three podiums in F1 has moved toEndurance with LM P2 with PREMA in 2023, before becoming an official driver at Lamborghini. The Russian was also made official as first pilot of the Italian crew en WEC next season, aboard the SC63.

A Frenchman expected in Super Formula

Daniil Kvyat should therefore respect a double WEC – Super Formula program in 2024, which will not pose a problem in terms of calendar since no clash of dates is planned between the two championships. Still according to our information, the Russian would not be the only distinguished guest during the Super Formula Rookies Tests at the beginning of December. Indeed, a Frenchman who is currently running in Formula 2 is also expected at Suzuka, where the tests will take place.

By elimination, based on the principle that Victor Martins and Isack Hadjar should repeat in Formula 2 and that Clément Novalak heads towards Endurance and LM P2, alone Theo Pourchaire seems to meet this criterion. The Grassois, who will challenge for the F2 title this weekend in Abu Dhabi, is looking for a new path after three campaigns spent in the antechamber of Formula 1.

Like Liam Lawson, vice-champion of Super Formula from his rookie season and author of good performances in F1 with AlphaTauri, the protégé of the Sauber fold could continue to gain experience in the Land of the Rising Sun, still in the optics of arriving in Formula 1 in 2025. His commitment to Super Formula nevertheless remains to be confirmed.

Purchasing in F1? I absolutely don't believe it at all.
