- The 4 Hours of Barcelona, first race of the 2024 European season Le Mans Series, started this Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
- The No. 22 United Autosports Oreca started from pole position thanks to Ben Hanley's performance the day before during qualifying. His teammate Filip Ugran retained this advantage ahead of Lorenzo Fluxa (COOL Racing) at the start. Sarah Bovy (Iron Dames) also kept first place in GT3.
- Ugran and Fluxa quickly took a good lead at the head of the event before a first Full Course Yellow triggered after fifteen minutes of racing due to the Ligier JS P320 n°5 of RLR M Sport spinning in the last sector . The Spaniard took advantage of the race restart five minutes later to surprise Ugran and take control of the race.
- Robert Kubica (AO by TF) plunged into the pit lane after around twenty minutes of racing only because of a damaged car at the front.
- Ryan Cullen (Vector Sport) and Alejandro Garcia (COOL Racing) collided after just under thirty minutes of racing and ended up in the gravel, triggering a Virtual Safety Car. Several teams took advantage of the situation to make their first stop, including leaders Fluxa and Ugran.
- The Spaniard and the Romanian occupy the first two positions at the end of this first hour of racing in Barcelona. Giorgio Roda (Proton Competition n°77) is in first position in the LM P2 Pro-Am. Julien Gerbi (Team Virage) leads the LM P3 category. Sarah Bovy (Iron Dames) leads GT3.
