A tragedy hit the European paddocks Le Mans Series and the Michelin Le Mans Cup in Barcelona this Tuesday April 9. While the continental championship and its support series settled in Barcelona for pre-season testing this Monday and Tuesday, a fatal incident occurred in the morning.

In the morning during assembly, Gerhard Freundorfer, Team Manager of Proton Huber Competition, was involved in a fatal accident with his team truck. He was quickly treated by the circuit's medical staff but, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
