Macéo Capietto, how did you arrive at Proton-Iron Lynx for this season?

After two years in FRECA, the initial objective was to repeat another season in a big team. We realized quite quickly that this was not going to be possible, due to lack of budget. With our contacts at Iron Lynx, we had to aim for the GT3 on a Lamborghini. Tests last winter went very well, but all the places were taken. The opportunity to do the LM P2 then presented itself. It's a big step in my career at one point it was getting tricky. Iron Lynx gives me a very big opportunity.

Isn't the difference too significant to go directly from FRECA to LM P2?

It is certain that the proto is faster, but the behavior is not very different. There are a lot more electronics on board. You have to learn to save gas and tires. In pure driving, the difference is not so obvious. You get used to it quickly.

How do you deal with sharing a car for the first time in your career?

I try to be as involved as possible with my teammates Jonas (Ried) and Matteo (Cairoli) and we help each other. When I was at RPM (in 2023), I had the same attitude. Although Matteo drives in LMDh in a Lamborghini, we are all a bit of a beginner in LM P2 (Jonas Ried started in the category in 2023. Editor's note).

What are your ambitions in the face of such a tough plateau?

We should be able to fight from the start at the front during qualifying. But I'm not so sure about race pace. Personally, I still need to improve on this compared to Matteo. We are at a bit of a disadvantage compared to the others because we have two drivers in the Silver category (compared to only one for the other LM P2s. Editor's note).

Coming into the Iron Lynx fold and into sport-proto, do you have an eye on the Hypercar in the future?

Why not, but for now I'm completely focused on LM P2 with Iron Lynx, I thank them. I think you need two or three seasons before aiming for something else.
