The LM P2s will receive a big boost in European Le Mans Series. All Oreca 07s entered in the European championship will gain power and lose weight in order to improve the performance of the prototypes. The power of the Gibson 8L V4.2 engine increases from 540 to 580 horsepower, while the minimum weight decreases from 950 to 930 kilograms. The tank capacity has also been increased by six liters, bringing it to 75 liters. The championship advances a gain of one second on lap times.

A direct consequence of the absence of LM P2 in the World ChampionshipEndurance : until then, the LM P2s were restricted so as not to be too close to the Hypercars. These changes will only be valid for theELMS, which means that the LM P2s will retain the 2023 specification for the 24 Hours of Le Mans (540 horsepower and 950 kilos).

This season, the ELMS grid in the LM P2 category will be made up of 21 cars, all Oreca 07s, divided into 13 LM P2 cars and 8 LM P2 Pro/Am cars. The opening round of the 2024 season will be the 4 Hours of Barcelona on Sunday April 14 at the Barcelona Circuit in Spain.
