USCC – Chip Ganassi Racing shows up at Daytona

Although the Ford Rileys will not participate in the last day of testing for the Roar before the Rolex 24, Chip Ganassi Racing still took advantage of the second day of testing to achieve the best time among the four sessions contested. It was Jamie McMurray who completed the best lap with a time of 1'38"980 achieved in the fourth session at the wheel of the No. 01, three tenths of Christian Fittipaldi's reference time achieved on the first day. “We tried to make the car comfortable for everyone”, explained Scott Pruett's teammate, Memo Rojas and Serge Karam. “It's different from the one I drove last year with the traction control and the turbo. It will be a huge race to win. I've won the Daytona 500 and the Coke Zero 400 and even some kart events here and it would be fantastic to win the Rolex 24."

Sam Bird also stood out by setting the best PC time with a time of 1'42 at the wheel of the No. 010 FLM09 entered by Starworks Motorsports. If SRT Motorsports managed to put a Viper GTS-R at the top of the GTLM during the last session, it was the Corvette C8Rs which proved to be the most efficient. The best time goes to number 7 of Magnussen-Garcia-Briscoe who is credited with a time of 1'46"010. In the GTD category, it is the Porsche 911 GT America No. 71 from Park Place Motorsports driven by Norman-Stanton-Siedler who was the fastest with a lap completed in 1'48"253.
