On a refurbished and remodeled Isola 2000 circuit overnight, the drivers of the e-Andros Trophy were able to benefit from more than satisfactory ice conditions considering the spring weather to have fun during the 2nd of the 3 races on the program.
If Dorian Boccolacci (#3 – AS01 – Sébastien Loeb Racing) reigned over the first day of racing, Aurélien Panis (#38 – Audi A1 Isère – Sainteloc Racing) reminded everyone of his coronation ambitions by winning the second round in fine style. Aurélien ran the perfect race by winning the qualifying heats ahead of Yann Ehrlacher (#68 – AS01 Dupessey – Mracing) and Nathanael Berthon (#63 – Peugeot e208 – SP Competition), and by securing the best timed lap during the Super Pole. During this exercise in pure speed, stage local Christophe Ferrier (#06 – Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur – DRP) stood out after a very disappointing first day where he particularly suffered from the lack of ice.
Well established on pole in the Éite pro e-Trophée Andros final, Panis took off from the first turn to complete the 5 laps of the race in the lead. Behind the leader, Nathanael Berthon, Yann Ehrlacher and Christophe Ferrier put on a show, going blow for blow in a virile but always correct fight. Dorian Boccolacci, despite being the winner of the first day, once again delivered a solid performance rewarded with the point for the best lap.
Aurélien Panis wins his 3rd victory of the season and consolidates his position as overall leader in the Andros e-Trophy. Yann Ehrlacher and Nathanael Berthon respectively climbed onto the 2nd and 3rd step of the podium in race 2.
Now on to the 3rd race from 15:30 p.m.
