General classification Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge 2024:

  • The new association between Nasser Al-Attiyah and Édouard Boulanger could not have started better. The Qatari driver, who decided to part ways with Mathieu Baumel to collaborate with Stéphane Peterhansel's former co-driver following an abandonment in the 2024 Dakar, won the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge (ADDC) this Saturday March 2.
  • The five-time Dakar winner and double world champion rally-raid (W2RC) managed to erase a delay of several minutes following silting in the dunes of Abu Dhabi during the course. With Édouard Boulanger, this is their first victory together, and for good reason: it was also their first race as a pair!

  • The podium is completed by the American rookie of Toyota Gazoo Racing, Seth Quintero, associated with Dennis Zenz. World vice-champion in 2023, Yazeed Al-Rajhi (Toyota) finished third, with Timo Gottschalk.
  • In Challenger (ex-T3), Austin Jones and Rokas Baciuska offer Can-Am a double which is good after the failure suffered at the Dakar with the success of Taurus and Cristina Gutiérrez.
  • In an event where Sébastien Loeb was absent in order to concentrate on the Dacia program for 2025, the Toyota clan was decimated. Lucas Moraes gave up after his 4×4 caught fire. Guerlain Chicherit and Guillaume de Mévius also withdrew following two bad landings at the bottom of a bump and back pain.
  • The next round of W2RC is scheduled for April 2-7 in Portugal.
