It smells like Autumn!

The Autumn Rally is back this year for its 65th edition! This year, the outgoing double winner, Jean-Marie Cuoq, is not putting his title back on the line, which promises us a fairly open edition.

Despite a drop in the overall number of entrants, there will be suspense with 15 Rally2s entered. Pierre Ragues will start with bib number 1 for his first rally with Skoda's latest weapon, the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. He will be followed by Nicolas Hernandez, who after his success in 2017, remains in three consecutive second places during the last 3 editions. Author of a good final, Tarnais Jordan Berfa will be keen to show his burst of speed far from his bases. Betrayed by the mechanics in 2021, Eric Brunson will certainly seek to achieve another success on this rally. Despite his exit during the Rally Final, Bruno Longépé is still part of the group of favorites for the autumn classic... Outside of the Rally2 peloton, Quentin Ribaud will be one to watch in his Clio Rally3. Finally, in the GT group, we should witness a great battle between the Alpine by Jérôme Galpin and Mathias de Sousa who will challenge the Porsche by Jimmy Thibaudeau.

In VHC, despite the Final on the same weekend on the Rallye des Côtes du Tarn, the field is up slightly. Most of the usual presenters are absent but Samuel Bézinaud, Autumn specialist, will participate in the VHC variant of the rally for the first time! Second last year, Pascal Eouzan will not want to settle for a runner-up place this year. David Castera, Patrice Rault and Claude Cadillon will also aim to host the race.

The serious things will begin this Thursday afternoon for around twenty competitors with a shakedown taking place around Fouras. We should normally find Pierre Ragues, Nicolas Hernandez, Bruno Longépé, Eric Brunson... The technical checks will take place on Friday morning before and then the competitors will have a loop of 3 special stages to complete at night. On Saturday, the competitors will this time have 11 stages to complete before arriving in Châtelaillon-Plage in the evening!
