Sébastien Ogier ready for his return to Croatia

Absent since Monte-Carlo at the end of January, Sébastien Ogier will return to competition on Croatian soil this weekend where he could well see himself signing a second success after that of 2021.

Second in Monte-Carlo at the start of the season, Sébastien Ogier has since moved away from rallies. Still on a partial program, the eight-time world champion has meanwhile missed the rounds in Sweden and Kenya, where Kalle Rovanperä successfully replaced at the Safari. The opportunity for him to regain his health before attacking the Rally from Croatia this weekend (April 18-21).

Ogier, victory in his sights?

Having been stationary for a little over two months, Sébastien Ogier was able to prepare for the Croatia Rally in advance with traditional private tests. This obviously allowed the Gapençais to find his feet before really going on the attack in a few days.

« My test last week was a good opportunity to regain my sensations in the car, with a fairly demanding road: quite fast, with jumps and narrow sections, he emphasizes. These are also characteristics of the rally, but we also know that the weather can be uncertain at this time of year."

Seventh in the running order, Sébastien Ogier will not necessarily have an advantage over the leaders, unlike a round on dirt or snow. Despite everything, the pilot Toyota don't lose hope and keep in mind your main objective: the podium at the very least.

« We don't have the ideal starting position for an asphalt rally, so we will have to assess the conditions and see what we can dohe recalls. My main motivation is still to get on the podium and fight for victory, but I'm also here to help the team, and with the new points system we can see that Sundays are also more important than ever."
