If Patrick Germain, president of Rallycross de Lohéac, remains more than skeptical about future developments in rallycross with the emergence of electric technology in World RX in 2020 (see Debriefing Ah n°2177), the boss of the French round of the World Championship will be able to display a full field for the 2018 edition of the Breton classic.
25 cars will be entered in World RX on September 1st and 2nd, with the traditional headliners being Peugeot (Loeb and the Hansen brothers), Volkswagen (Kristoffersson – Solberg), Audi (Ekström – Bakkerud), not to mention the Renault Megane RS RX – GCK RX, Hyundai i20 RX – GRX…
The entry list will, however, be reinforced by the presence of Davy Jeanney, back at the highest level with a Peugeot 208 from Pailler Compétition. Toomas Heikkinen will drive a Ford Fiesta – MJP Racing Team Austria, while Timo Scheider will drive the Münnich Motorsport Seat Ibiza.
In the French clan, Emmanuel Anne (Peugeot 208), Herve Knapick (Citroen DS3) and Gaëtan Serazin (Peugeot 208) will be there for their home meeting.
30 cars in Euro RX and 25 in Super1600 will also be lined up in Brittany.
