The Hansen family will continue to be present on the grid of the World Championship of rallycross (World RX) in 2019. Timmy and Kevin will find Peugeot 208 in the Supercar category with the help of the MJP team. The stable will be called the Team Hansen MJP.
WE DID IT!
So proud to enter @fiaworldrx as Team HANSEN MJP!
It's been the toughest months of our lives, but it was all worth it. Me and Timmy are ready to fight for the big crown in 2019 with our 208 WRX#thereturn #TeamHANSENMJP #WorldRX pic.twitter.com/K3js5pFAQH— Kevin Hansen (@kevinhansen71) March 6, 2019
The deal was not easy for parents Kenneth and Susan Hansen, Team Principal and Team Manager respectively. “The following months the end of the Peugeot Sport RX program were the hardest ever, recognizes the man with 14 European Rallycross titles.
Since that moment, with a deep commitment to our love of RX, Hansen Motorsport has used nearly every waking hour to find solutions and assemble the team and budget to return to World RX. »
For Susan Hansen, this announcement is « a huge relief. During this difficult period, we were overwhelmed by the support of our partners and fans, and despite what initially seemed like an impossible task, little by little, we got back on track. » The Swedes will thus be associated with the Austrian Max J. Pucher, owner of the eponymous team. “We have an almost identical vision for the future of this sport. »
Timmy Hansen and Kevin Hansen stand out as two serious challengers for the 2019 season, the first (26 years old) having finished all World RX seasons in the top 6 while his little brother (20 years old) finished the 2018 financial year in eighth rank. Between the world rounds, the two young men will compete in the new Global Rallycross Europe.
