Helio Castroneves (Acura ARX-05 n°7 – Acura Team Penske) was the fastest in the first free practice session for the 12 Hours of Sebring (Florida), the finale of the 2020 season in IMSA.
The Brazilian completed his benchmark time in 1'49″360, 35 thousandths better than Sébastien Bourdais, associated on the No. 5 Cadillac DPi-VR – JDC-Miller Motorsports with Tristan Vautier and Loïc duval.
The top three of the session is completed by the second Cadillac DPi-VR – JDC-Miller, driven by the Simpson – Leist – Andrews trio.
In GTLM, Porsche shone with the No. 911 911 RSR of Frédéric Makowiecki, the fastest of the session in 1'58"717, three tenths ahead of Laurens Vanthoor's sister car. Connor de Phillippi (BMW M8 n°25 – Team RLL) follows 21 thousandths behind Vanthoor.
Jack Hawksworth (Lexus RC F GT3 n°14 – AIM Vasser Sullivan) set the benchmark in GTD in 2'02″961.
