Paul di Resta (Mercedes), leader of the general classification of DTM, was eliminated in Q3, the third phase of the qualifying session for the Italian round of the series, at Adria. The Scot, already narrowly qualified at the end of Q2 (8th out of eight qualifiers), achieved the sixth time in Q3 (1:10:309), failing to reach the last four of the qualifiers. Bruno Spengler (Mercedes), Mattias Ekström (Audi), Gary Paffett (Mercedes) and Jamie Green (Mercedes) compete for Adria pole in Q4.
