The Mercedes seem to have found rhythm at the Norisring since Daniel Juncadella set the best time in the first practice session of the DTM with a time of 48 ahead of the C AMG Coupé of Robert Wickens which follows at six thousandths. Mattias Ekström placed the leading Audi less than a tenth ahead of the RS 567 DTMs of Timo Scheider, Nico Müller and Jamie Green. Adrien Tambay set the 5th fastest time, two tenths behind. Championship leader Marco Wittmann is 11th in his BMW. Maxime Martin is 15th, almost half a second behind.
