Fastest driver in Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4, the Briton was able to snatch pole position (41??278), ahead of the championship leader, Bruno Spengler (Mercedes, 41??330). Timo Scheider (Audi, 41??513) ranks third, ahead of Ralf Schumacher (Mercedes, 41??751). Alexandre Prémat (Audi, 41??498) set the eleventh time in Q2. Eliminated at this stage of qualifying, he will start eleventh on Sunday.
