Mark Martin will start on pole position for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond, after setting the fastest time in qualifying. The Sprint Cup Series veteran is ahead of Atlanta pole sitter Martin Truex Jr and Denny Hamlin. Brian Vickers, 13th in the general classification, will start in 6th position while Kyle Busch, 14th in the general classification, will start in 8th place. The two men will have to obtain a good result if they want to qualify for the Chase, in which the first twelve drivers in the general classification will participate at the end of the race, which will be held next night. Matt Kenseth, 12th overall, will only start in 28th position, ahead of Tony Stewart.
